Tokyo

Tokyo

We went to Tokyo!! Tokyo is Japan’s capital. It’s population is 9.273 million!

Tokyo is also were the Emperor lives.

This is the imperial family

To get to Tokyo, we had to take a 3 hour bullet train ride. A bullet train isn’t a normal train. It is shaped like a bullet and it can reach speeds up to 320km an hour! The fastest the train has gone during tests is 443km an hour.

On our way to Tokyo, we passed Mount Fuji. Mount Fuji is an active volcano that erupted in 1707 it is 3776 meters tall. It looked like it was resting on clouds like a floating island. I thought it was super cool.

The next day, we went to the Imperial palace. The Imperial palace is where the emperor of Japan lives.

We went to the east garden gate. We wandered around the gardens for about an hour and a half and realized that all of the gates to the palace were closed off!! I was not happy and neither were my Dad and Nate. We were hot and sweaty (it felt like 43 degrees that day) and we didn’t even find the right entrance to see the palace!! We decided to go back to our place and get out of the heat.

Later that evening, went to a tower called the Tokyo Metropolitan building. It is a great place to see the view of Tokyo. We went up 45 stories high. The view was nice. We saw lots of buildings, parks and Mount Fuji.

We were also up there to meet our friends, Paul and Beth. They are awesome and super funny. They are here on vacation before Paul and my Dad go to the rugby world cup. We went out for dinner and had a nice visit with them. It was fun.

The next day, we tried to go back to the Imperial Palace to try to get in again (it was my mom's idea, she really wanted to go) Unfortunately, we were not successful AGAIN!

We decided to make our way to the Borderless Art Museum. The Borderless Art Museum is the world’s first digital art museum. They projected flowers, butterflies and a bunch of other things that went around to each room .

When we were in one of the rooms we decided to go on something called the flying nest. The flying nest, is where you lie down on a big net. When the show starts, virtual doves zoom past you to music and behind them were neon lights and you felt like you were spinning. It was really cool and I like it and felt dizzy after.

Just asking... What is your favourite game or video game? Mine is House of the Dead and Mario Kart.
