view of hout bay (we are staying in hout bay)
Cape of Good Hope
We went to the Cape of Good Hope. The Cape of Good Hope is the most southern part of Africa!!
The "hike" up wasn't too long but the views were beautiful.
Sailors were so happy if they passed the peak because they knew that they were almost safe because the Cape of Good Hope had a lot of shipwrecks. Here are a few . The Phyllisia ( 2 of May 1968 ) The Phyllisia was too shallow and broke into four pieces but lucky all were rescued. Unity ( 5 of September 1859 ) the ship was wrecked in a storm but sadly 2 lives were lost.
Also, we walked up to a lighthouse the lighthouse. The views were amazing!! It was also super cool because there was a sign that showed us how many kilometers it was to other major cities in the world like New York and Sydney.
After, we went to the lighthouse keepers homes. The lighthouse keepers homes were built in the 1860s. One cottage served as sleeping and the other was for the dining room. The lighthouse keepers and their families were sometimes lonely, but people would come and visit them because it was big enough for visitors.
There was another building that had lots of information and museum stuff to look at. One of the cool things to look at was poster about the marine life and protecting our oceans. There was a fish called the “Red Romans” The red romans start as females, then change into males once they reach a certain size. Cool, eh?
Then we saw some baboons :0 we saw 1 baboon that was stealing a mans banana then we saw another on a car and another with a baby.
Table Mountain
We all decided to climb Table Mountain.
Lets go hiking!
At the start of the trail
It took two full hours to climb !!! The scenery was beautiful!
We even saw South Africa's national flower the Protea. You know what is cool about this flower? It can survive in wildfires. It has a big stem that has dormant buds that live in it under the ground. After the fires, they wake up and grow. Another cool thing about the Protea is that the flower symbolizes different things. If you want to give someone a protea flower, you should know what they mean. It means diversity, courage, daring and transformation. So, if you know someone who fits into what it means, maybe you should get them proteas for valentines day.

I survived!!!
I survived! Here are some other nice pictures!

After that , we went to get a drink! Then, we went
down the cable car and the floor spun around so everyone could get a good view. When we got to the bottom we left.
